The customer is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cast iron, aluminum, and magnesium components for the automotive sector, with production facilities in Europe, South America, and Asia. The company runs continuous processes with high volumes in its foundry departments, where efficiency, safety, and dust control are key to maintaining productivity and ensuring top-quality standards.
In the molding and sandblasting processes, high sand consumption generated large quantities of fine abrasive dust. Material buildup in the work areas was interfering with machinery and increasing the need for manual cleanup, slowing down the workflow.
Internal handling of spent sand, combined with reliance on external suppliers for disposal, resulted in high recurring costs and challenges to the department’s production continuity.
Solution: Delfin high-vacuum system
To meet the customer's needs, we have installed a high-efficiency industrial vacuum system for heavy workloads:
- DHV45 vacuum cleaner: designed for intensive use 5 days a week (20 hours a day).
- 1-m³ collection hopper: ideal for handling large volumes of material.
- Two separators: for effective pre-separation of heavy and abrasive material.
This configuration has enabled continuous sand collection, optimizing load capacity and drastically reducing wear on the filtration system.
