The supply was coordinated in collaboration with a leading international engineering firm specializing in the construction of cement plants. The project involved the integration of 4 centralized extraction systems in strategic areas of the plant: bagging, cement grinding, coal grinding (in an ATEX environment), and the silo area. In a newly built cement plant, a professional extraction system is essential to ensure efficiency and safety from day one.

Context and operational challenges: Abrasive dust

Cement production generates massive volumes of fine, abrasive dust. Without an adequate system, the issues that would have arisen include:

  • Constant accumulation: material deposits in the grinding and bagging areas.
  • Hazardous environments: the need to handle explosive coal dust in ATEX zones.
  • Cleaning logistics: covering long distances within the plant with fixed piping.
  • Mechanical wear: the need for extremely robust systems to withstand the abrasiveness of cement.

Solution: DHV high-vacuum systems

Delfin has designed 4 customized central vacuum systems based on the performance of the DHV range:

  • CV45HVC Unit: 4 customized high-vacuum extraction units for continuous operation.
  • ATEX protection: a unit specifically designed for the coal grinding area to ensure maximum operational safety.
  • High-Efficiency Separators: integrated for optimal handling of heavy materials and dense dust.

The fixed piping system has enabled centralized collection, ensuring consistent performance even over the longest distances in the plant.

Benefits: continuity and control

Plant Efficiency: structured and simultaneous management of cement dust in all critical departments.

  • Certified Safety: full compliance with ATEX regulations for the extraction of combustible materials (coal).
  • Reduced Maintenance: systems built for heavy-duty applications, resulting in a significant reduction in downtime.
  • Resource Optimization: Significant reduction in manual cleaning operations and improved air quality.
  • ERP Integration: synergistic design with the new plant for a seamless workflow.
